About
The Carroll Dragon Competition BBQ Team is a 501(c)3 Booster Club & a School Based Enterprise (SBE) of the Carroll ISD DECA chapter. We are competing members of the Texas High School BBQ League and the National High School BBQ Association focused on inspiring and preparing students for life by participating in competition to teach, preserve and promote the tradition of barbecue and live fire cooking as a sport designed around project “baste” learning while developing leadership, career and life skills for today’s youth.
Cooking
While competitions will be a fun and exciting part of the bbq team, we will also be on a journey through the culinary world and learn many different skills and methods in the kitchen. We are thankful to have Joe & Amy Torres of Torres Cooking Concepts LLC as our competition team mentors to teach us the ins and outs of competition BBQ as well as learning from other guest, local chefs, foodies, pit-masters and restaurateurs throughout the year.
